Claire Battersby completed a 5-year course in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in 1998, since when she has run a busy private practice in London. She is experienced in treating a wide range of conditions, including gynaecological, digestive, respiratory, endrinological and autoimmune disorders, headaches and migraines, and much more. In her practice, she may use acupuncture or Chinese herbal medicine, or a combination of the two, to obtain the best possible result.

Claire’s initial training was in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the style of medicine practised in China since the Cultural Revolution. In recent years, her interest has led her to pursue post-graduate studies in Classical Chinese Medicine, a style of medicine which is based on the classical teachings of the ancient Taoist medical texts. She is committed to deepening her knowledge of Chinese medicine and has studied with some of the world’s most eminent Chinese medical doctors, including Tinh Thong Nguyen, Jeffrey Yuen, Dr Huang Huang and Dr Arnaud Versluys.

Claire has a special interest in gynaecology and obstetrics. Through extensive study and several years of experience, she has gained expertise in the treatment of various menstrual disorders, infertility, miscarriage and pregnancy and the use of acupuncture with IVF. In the field of gynaecology, in particular, Claire’s approach is to incorporate western medical diagnosis and theory into a traditional Chinese framework, and she works with some of the UK’s leading gynaecologists and fertility specialists. She is committed to promoting a natural preconceptual healthcare programme to enhance fertility and increase the chances of natural conception or the success of IVF.

Claire has set up Conceive, a clinic specializing in fertility, gynaecology and pregnancy healthcare at the Dulwich Therapy Rooms, which offers an integrated approach to treating infertility and menstrual problems and providing care during and post-pregnancy.

Claire is a Member of the British Acupuncture Council and the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine. These professional bodies guarantee the highest standards of training, care and professionalism. All members adhere to a strict Code of Ethics, Practice and Disciplinary Procedures and are professionally insured.
