Lola Boix

Oru Space, East Dulwich

Lola Boix qualified as an acupuncturist in 2000. She studied at Westminster University in London, gaining a Bachelor of Science Honours (BSc (Hons)) degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM): Acupuncture.  Western medicine was also integrated in her degree.

Lola began her career in alternative medicine as a shiatsu practitioner in 1994, which enabled her to gain valuable, hands--on experience in treating a variety of musculoskeletal disorders such as sports injuries, sciatica, neck, shoulders, back and knee pains.

After graduating from Westminster university, she spent seven years working at the Gateway clinic in London. Here she was seeing four patients per hour, which gave her invaluable experience in treating patients with an array of conditions that were specifically referred to the clinic by the GP’s: such as musculoskeletal (arthritis, sciatica, back pain), digestive (IBS, constipation, diarrhoea, Crohns disease, ulcerative colitis, etc), gynaecology (infertility, pregnancy, pre-menstrual tension, period pain and irregularity, menopause), respiratory (asthma, hay fever, recurrent colds and flu), immune diseases (HIV, Hep. C, ME, rheumatoid arthritis, etc), psychological problems (anxiety, insomnia depression, stress, panic attacks), migraines, headaches, cancer and chemotherapy support amongst others.

Lola has undertaken further specialised studies in infertility, pregnancy, menopause, digestive disorders, cupping, electro acupuncture, musculoskeletal (back and joint pain), nutrition, Bach flower essences, Qi and natural healing amongst others, and she is always keeping up-to-date with the latest research.

Whilst using Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and 5 Element acupuncture techniques in her treatment, Lola may also use other treatments, such as: cupping, moxibustion, ear acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, and Guasha treatments, as well as nutrition advice.

Lola has particular interest and experience in treating infertility and pregnancy and works closely with a midwife.

Lola has a successful private practice in south-east London, with clinics in Brixton, Dulwich and Forest Hill.   Since 2000, she has also been practising at Dulwich Medical Centre, a GP surgery in East Dulwich, where she sees patients suffering from various complaints.

She has been responsible for the running of stress groups and drug and alcohol groups for Transport for London (TFL) since 2000 as well as various detox clinics in London.

Lola has a depth of experience and knowledge gained over many years and takes a holistic approach to her treatment. She aims to address the root cause of the problem that the patients are presenting with, and so provide a more effective treatment. Her very warm and empathetic manner will make you feel at ease instantly.

She enjoys and practises Qi-gong and meditation, loves gardening and being with nature.

As a full member of the British Acupuncture Council body, she guarantees the highest standard of training, care and professionalism. All members adhere to a strict code of ethics, practice and disciplinary procedures.
